On the Way Home Last Night 5/6/15

The sky and office/condo buildings are now visible through the beams that used to hold the southbound platform of the Madison/Wabash station in the loop. CTA is taking it's time bringing the old station down--it closed nearly two months ago, but all they've done is remove signage and, within the last couple of weeks, take the roofing and platform planks away. The overwhelming majority of the station? Still untouched.

On the Way Home Friday Night 3/13/15

My last view of the Madison/Wabash station as the train pulled out heading north.

The sign at my neighborhood stop, noting Madison/Wabash's imminent demise.

On the Way Home Last Night 12/7/14

The moon is full and bright tonight.
The werewolves, they abound.
They prowl the streets for tender meats,
whate'er may be found.
So stay inside--indeed, do hide
and hold your innards dear.
Shocktober may be gone, but there
is plenty left to fear!

On the Way Home Last Night 12/5/14

I've lived in Chicago all my life, yet I've never been lucky enough to ride the Christmas Train, CTA's annual stab at holidat cheer. However, I did see it last night on its way to Midway Airport and managed to take a couple of shots before it lumbered on its merry way south.

On the Way Home Last Night 11/25/14

This ginormous turkey looms over a yard near my apartment. I found it fascinating that he was surrounded by Jack O'Lanterns--had he been there since Halloween, or did the home owner just leave the pumpkins where they were and swap out, say, an inflated ghost or witch for Tom Turkey here?

On the Way Home Last Night 10/16/14

I found this mask lying amongst the damp, colorful leaves of Richmond Street. It looks like a school project to color in a Dia de los Muertos skull; there's a girl's name scribbled on the back. If that's the case...nice job, Briana.
