The Boys Beneath the TV
Lined up beneath the TV screen are several vintage figures collected from various places. The one on the left is the newest, found at kitschy toy store Uncle Fun a couple of weeks ago. The rest were picked up either from the long-gone Wonderland Multivintage--the same place where the aluminum tree and the Angels Three came from--or were found amongst Grandma's Christmas decorations (as was Angelique.

Man, I just love Christmas decorations like these! When I was a pre-schooler, my parents bought the house I was raised in (my sister Monica and her family live there now). The family who lived there before us actually built the house in 1927 and lived there for many years. When the matriarch died, the kids sold the house to my parents and inexplicably left many family heirlooms in the attic and in the basement. Among those itmes were boxes of charming such Christmas ornaments and decorations from the 1930s, '40s, and '50s. I used to go into the attic at a very young age and just admire them. We used some of them to decorate our Christmas tree for several years, but we eventually put them away in favor of those wretched yarn bells that were so popular in the late 1970s. I'm sorry to say that those lovely vintage ornaments were thrown away by someone in my family, likely by Mom who would NEVER have made it as a collector.
