That is a very old-school lock. I don't think such locks are even manufactured anymore. When you see things like that don't you wonder who put it there and why?
That was the very thing I wondered when I ran across it: "What was locked here? And when? And why? And why did the lock stay after the object it was safeguarding was removed?"
