Saturday Night Dinner
Ziti, baked by the mutitalented and ever-fabulous Superbadfriend, with garlic toast and a glass of Riesling. (I know--that doesn't really go with ziti. I don't think in terms of what wine goes best with what food. I think in terms of, "Do I like this wine? Yes. Do I want to drink a bottle of it tonight? Yes. Do I have the money to make that happen? Yes.") In other news...yum!

The ziti looks soooo good! Superbadfriend is a super bad-ass cook.
Many, if not all, of the old tenets concerning food and wine pairings are being challenged or scoffed at by the current generation of chefs. Of course, there are certain wines and foods that just compliment one another beautifully and others that don't, but the old hard and fast rules no longer hold so much weight.

Steak-Red. Fish-White. Cheese-Sparkling. Dessert-Coffee. Pizza-Beer
Doritos-Coke. Water is a free for all.
