OK, it wasn't so much a beginning as an appetizer--a small system driven ahead of the main storm that dropped an inch or two on the city overnight. The main course arrives this afternoon, when winds will howl off of Lake Michigan, waves will crash onto Lake Shore Drive, and snow will fall at a rate of two or three inches an hour.

Snowmageddon 2011 Begins
