How the heck did you manage to get that shot without frightening the birdie away? Perhaps it's not yet old enough to be cautious.
I used the zoom on my camera to get a closer shot, but I was still pretty close. Maybe it knew I meant no harm? I was sorry I didn't have a hunk of bread for it.

Not sure what kind of bird this is--maybe a really young robin? Anyway, it was about the size of a tennis ball and chirping its head off.
